Geographical SCULPTURE (2016)
Geographical EXTRACTION (upcoming)

The world’s geography because of its complexity, its extent, the shapes of continents, the oceans, the lakes, the rivers and the multiple boundaries, offers a creative potential that is limited only by the imagination.

To approach the geography of the globe is also to be interested in the cultures, know-how and activities of those who inhabit it. Each treatment or territory is a free interpretation inspired by a variable number of data and information collected about it.

In 2016 we realized Geographical Sculpture: a series of six sculptures of four countries and two cities: Canada, Congo, United States, Israel, Manhattan and Venice. Numerous studies have also been carried out.

During the process new avenues have emerged. They are the beginning of a continuity called Geographical Extraction. The directions envisaged range from architecture to abstraction, from the sculptural installation to painting. Traditional and digital technologies will be use.

Manhattan, 2016. Stained glass thermoformed. Dimensions 120 x 30 x 10 cm. Manhattan’s cartography looks like a carcass of meat. This sculpture in tinted glass accentuates this impression. The boundaries of New York’s neighborhoods are engraved on the glass. It recalls a graph of meat cut at the butcher.
